about

Title-track and lead single of the EP. This song lyrically originated from the news story about a heavy metal fan named James Evans, who was wrongfully arrested, jailed and wrongfully accused of threatening school violence when all he did was simply post lyrics to "Class Dismissed (A Hate Primer)," a song by Exodus, which he was a fan of.

lyrics

(Intro solo: Alberto)

Seal your ears and guard thine tongues
Suppress your passions or be labelled as scum
By the sheeple of society mired in anxiety
Secretly, silently, a witch hunt has now begun

Have they become too fragile and frail
To distinguish true terror from tale?
Must all runes we recite
Be misread as indictable ails?

Shall we sing in silence
At the peril of being detained?
Shall we sing in silence?
Would it still be seen as insane?

How can mere words predate such terrors?
Why must we suffer for others' errors?
Shall we sing in silence and in shame?
Are we to blame?

Lay down your freedom to express
To sing a song or speak in jest
Lest ye be doomed to persecution
At society's behest

Out of civic paranoia
They'll traduce and vilify you
As a potential danger to mankind
And so shall the troops be deployed

Wretched proles
Know your roles
Damn your souls!

Shall we sing in silence
At the peril of being detained?
Shall we sing in silence?
Would it still be seen as insane?

How can lyrics predate such terrors?
Why must we suffer for others' errors?
Shall we sing in silence and in shame
Into our graves?

Beware, for you could be taken away
For naught more than mere wordplay
Though misread in error, mistaken for terror
Still the price is yours to pay

(Guitar solos: Alberto & Chris)

Have they become too fragile and frail
To distinguish true terror from tale?
Our system fails, yet society regales
As injustice prevails

So shall we sing in silence
At the peril of being detained?
Shall we sing in silence?
Would it still be seen as insane?

How can mere words predate such terrors?
Why must we suffer for others' errors?
Shall we sing in silence and in shame
Forever enslaved?
